How do I read the grade of foam in my product?
Dunlop Foams grades are identified by an industry coding system which have a series of letters and numbers. An example of this coding is: EN36-100, where EN is the Dunlop foam type code, 36 is the density, and 100 is the hardness.

How can I tell if the cot mattress the right size for my cot?
A toddler or baby can get stuck in gaps between the mattress and the cot sides. This is especially dangerous if their face is trapped and covered, or their neck is restricted in any way. Make sure there is no more than a 25mm (1inch) gap between the mattress and the cot sides and ends. Remove plastic packaging from the mattress.

How thick should my baby's cot or basinette mattress be?
Your mattress should not exceed 75mm thickness.

Where do I find the cleaning instructions for my product?
The care instructions for all Dunlop living products can be found on the care label. This label is generally sewn inside the cover or, if your cover is not removable, will be sewn into an external seam.

Can I wash foam?
No, foam cannot be washed. Please read your care label on your product for cleaning instructions. If foam becomes dirty or soiled, sponge lightly with lukewarm water and a damp cloth.

The foam in my Dunlop Living product is discoloured- is it dirty or second-hand foam?
Polyurethane foam discolours naturally in light. Any change in colour will not affect the performance of the foam or product.

How do I choose the right foam mattress?
Foam density and hardness dictate the feel and recommended use for a mattress. Lower density foam mattresses are more suited to occasional use, whilst higher density mattresses will be suitable for everyday use. Please take time to speak to a customer service representative at your retailer and explain your specific requirements.

A foam overlay is a sheet of foam that can be added to the top of a mattress to alter the feel. Different foam grades, heights and convolutions offer a range of different feels depending on your requirements. When I unpacked my overlay, it seems out of shape. Is it faulty?
Due to the nature of compression packaging, please allow up to 48 hours for your overlay to recover.

What is the benefit of having Ultra-Fresh performance anti-microbial?
As the name suggests, Ultra-Fresh is a performance anti-microbial. Laboratory tests show that foams, fibres and fabrics treated with Ultra-Fresh at the manufacturing stage, provide effective control of house dust mites as well as the growth of destructive mould, mildew and fungi - important triggers for allergic and asthmatic responses, particularly in children.

What does 'Convolusion' mean?
The process of cutting foam while it is compressed between two shaped rollers, which produces two "egg-crate" or other shape sheets from one flat sheet of foam.

What is meant by a Visco-elastic or Memory Foam?
These are Low Resilience foams are often called "memory" or "visco-elastic" foams due to their slow recovery after compression force is removed, leaving a temporary imprint. These foams provide superior comfort by reducing pressure points and are often used in chiropractic or pressure-relieving products

What do we mean by "Lifetime" warranty?
From the date of purchase for the lifetime of the product as purchased in its original form. In short - until the item is sold or recovered.

What is foam?
A light cellular material created from small bubbles of gas in polyurethane plastic or rubber as a result of a chemical reaction.

What does 'Density' mean?
Density - this refers to the weight of the foam in kilograms per cubic metre. Density is the best indicator of foam quality and durability. Foams with higher density have more foam per cubic metre for comfort and support and superior resistance to loss of hardness or height/thickness compared to lower density foams. They are also more expensive due to their higher material content. An example of quality high-density doam is Dunlop Enduro's - EN50-250, with a nominal density of 50 kilograms per cubic metre.

What does 'Hardness' mean?
Hardness - this is a measure of the 'feel' of a foam and is closely related to percieved consumer preference. All foams manufactured by Dunlop Foams are tested for hardness (load bearing) and must be within a set range of tolerance. To establish the hardness, a standard size piece of foam is compressed to 40% and th force (expressed in Newtons) required to achieve that compression is measured. An example of a resonalably high nominal hardness foam is Dunlop Enduro's - EN50-250 tested to AS2282 has a nominal hardness of 250N.
